ABOUT OUR ISLAND Virgin Gorda has a population of about 1,500 and is the third largest of the British Virgin Islands. This beautiful island is 8 1/2 square miles and is a resort-type island. It maintains year-round temperatures of 75-85 degrees and has a moderate rainfall, low humidity and cool breezes. Enjoy an ideal vacation climate throughout the year! Your may even try deep sea fishing, day sails, sunset sails, boat rental, day excursions to neighbouring islands, or experience our underwater paradise with snorkelling and scuba diving trips. Fischer's Cove is located in the heart of Spanish Town close to nearly anywhere. Taxi rides are readily available. To Fischer's Cove from the airport is seven minutes. From Fischer's Cove to the "Baths" is eight minutes. To shops in Spanish Town is five minutes. To the ruins of the ancient "Copper Mine" is twelve minutes. To the highest peak, "Gorda Peak", is twenty minutes. Direct flights are available from San Juan and St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda or Beef Island, Tortola. Ferries from Beef Island, Tortola are available. Direct ferries also operate out of St. Thomas with connecting services to Virgin Gorda.
